Help Those In Need

Recent estimates show that about one-fifth of the world’s population live in abject poverty, surviving on less than a dollar per day. Most people in the slums and inner cities are deprived of the material, spiritual and emotional resources needed to survive and develop, making them unable to enjoy their rights and achieve their full potential.

There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be open handed toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land (Deuteronomy 15:11). This is a call to us to help those in need in our communities. We must seek to set up the necessary structures that will help alleviate the plight of the poor and less privileged amongst us. Let’s provide them the necessary and required care, love, affection and suitable lifestyle. A little drop of water makes a mighty ocean. If each one of us will do a little, we can all do a lot and have a greater impact. I encourage you to think about doing more for the needy around you. Be a blessing to others and you will be blessed also.

You may never discover the treasure God has kept inside of you until you reach out to give someone’s life a meaning. That is where real satisfaction is. This is why there are a lot of wealthy people who are still not at peace or satisfied with what they have. Life is not about what you can get but rather what you can give. God will make happen for you the good things you make happen for others.

Conclusion

Taking responsibility simply means seeing what needs to be done and responding accordingly. That is how you find satisfaction! Success, victory and prosperity belong to those who recognize a human need and reach out to meet that need. Bossing others around is not worthwhile until you have identified a problem and offered the solution to that need. You are called to be in service to God, to your fellowman and society. Make that impact!
