Don’t Put Money First
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7
Wisdom is the ability to make a decision based on the combination of knowledge, experience, and intuitive understanding. It is the ability to know and apply spiritual truths. Wisdom is very important in every aspect of your life and proves to be the one thing that propels people to success. But for some, the pursuit of money is their primary preoccupation in life; the more they talk about money and chase after money, the less of it they get.
Wisdom is the principal thing and not money. If you want to start a business, the most important capital you require is not money. The Word of God makes it clear that wisdom is what you primarily require. The love or lack of it determines your success or failure in life. That is why the Bible tells us to renew our minds.
Money is essential, no doubt, for the Bible even tells us that money answereth all things (Ecclesiastes 10:19). But then the Bible talks about the excellency of wisdom over money. Wisdom is a shelter as money is a shelter. However, the advantage of knowledge is this: that wisdom preserves the life of its possessor (Ecclesiastes 7:12). Money can’t give life but wisdom can. So don’t put money first!
Why Work?
Why do you work? Why do you want your business to expand? Is it because of the love you have for people, your willingness to meet the needs of people or you just want to make money? There are a lot of people who are not fulfilled at their work places because they are in it just because of the money. Are you one of them? In all you do, don’t put money first. Rather, look out for a human need, and reach out to meet that need for that is where your satisfaction lies. Let your motivation be to do that which is good for God and for people and you will be a success.
