Love Memory Verse (5)
For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess (Deuteronomy 30:16).
Love is a special thing that only God can give. Interestingly, this has been shared abroad in the hearts of all who have received the Holy Spirit. By reading the opening scripture you can note that it was a command to love. Can you believe that? Many times I have heard people praying to God to move them to love Him. This is a prayer that God have answered even before the foundation of the earth but many are ignorant of it. Some say “if God gives me love, I can be able to love people more”. This is a silly prayer. There are two prayers that God will never answer, they are; what God has already done or has asked you to do.
Jesus reiterating this when He was asked what the greatest commandment was. His answer was love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind (Matthew 22:37). A commandment is not a negotiation but rather something you must do regardless. This seems to put across that it is our responsibility to love. God will never force you to love Him or people around you. He has placed it in your heart.
Love is the nature or the way of life of every believer. God is love and you are His Son or Daughter, therefore you are love. But the enemy has made it look as if you cannot love by clouding your mind with the old you. When you become born again you are no longer who you were but have been born into a new life where you don’t need to strive to love. Walk in this consciousness and you will always be overflowing with love.
Declaration: “I know who I am. I am the Son/Daughter of God and God is love, therefore I am love. I don’t need to strive to love because it was embedded in me when I received the Holy Ghost. Love is who I am”.
