The Antidote For Fear
Fear can be defined as a strong uncontrollable, unpleasant emotion caused by actual or perceived danger or threat. Mostly animals run away from that perceived threat as fast as they can just to avoid any strange outcome. Although human beings are classified as animals by science, they behave differently when they perceive threat. Actually man was not designed to fear at all. Fear was foreign to man until Adam sinned against God. For the first time, Adam knew fear and hid from God (Genesis 3:10). Since then, man has been living in the realm of fear. So now the question is “What is the antidote for fear?”
To touch on this we need to understand the source of fear. Where did fear originate from? Every fear in our lives was born out of the feeling of being cut off from God. Fear of the future, fear of the past, fear of diseases, fear of height and even fear of success or failure have its source from us being cut off from God. Fear is what breeds doubt and unbelief which prevents us from receiving the miracles God have prepared our way.
I have good news for you. The antidote for fear is not far from you than you think. First of all, take note that God is not mad at you in any way nor does He want to punish you for anything you have done. John the Apostle says that “perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18). When you know that God so loves you that He gave His only begotten Son to take your beating so that you can take His blessings, you will stop fearing. He loves you so much that at the cross, Jesus was rejected so that you could become God’s beloved. It was not the nails that kept Jesus on the cross but His love for you. If God did not withhold Jesus, why do you think that He will withhold healing, finances or any blessings from you? There is no need to worry because God has everything under control.
Today, if you understand His love and begin to walk in it, nothing in this world can produce fear in you. You will be bold and confident in all that you do knowing that God is forever faithful and always on your side. When the all powerful God is on your side, what or who can be against you? Nothing, absolutely nothing! There is no need to be afraid because His love has already done the job.
