God Uses Those Whom The World Rejects
Sometimes people think that God is in the habit of using perfect people. Interestingly, some of us ministers also portray that fact as though we are perfect. Sometimes people say that, “God is doing this or that in your life because you have been faithful and holy”. This may be through, “God rewards faithfulness and holiness” but it does not always work that way. God does not usher anyone into the healing ministry or into the miraculous just because they have been faithful and without blemish. This is why I have titled this article, “God uses those whom the world rejects”.
You may think that you are “a nobody” or “a loser” in the eyes of the world. Take heart because God’s Word says that if you are not wise, not mighty or not noble according to the flesh, then you are a prime candidate for Him to call on (1 Corinthians 1:27)! God chooses the imperfect people to show how mighty He is. He does not want you to believe in your own abilities but He wants you to rely solely on His ability. He just loves to make imperfect people perfect. And when He begins to use you, you will see His favour, power and increase change your life forever.
The Bible tells us that in the first 40 years of Moses’ life “He was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and deeds” (Acts 7:22). But guess what? God could not use him then because he was too smart, skilful, strong and full of himself. He was in fact the star of Egypt. It was 40 years later, having been in the unglamorous desert of Midian, and having emptied himself that God sent him to confound the might of Pharaoh.
The world may pass them by thinking they are weak, small and even losers but God uses those whom the world rejects to confound those who are mighty in the world.
Another example from the Bible is Paul the Apostle. He was a very learned man who was causing a lot of problems to the Church at that time (Acts 9). God could not use him because he was too intelligent and full of himself. But when he met the Master, he was broken and emptied of himself, and from that day onwards he begun to do exploits. He rose up to be one of the most successful Apostles. I believe he achieved this feet because his imperfection was great as well.
My beloved, when you think that you are weak and small compared to others in the world, that is when God can use you to do great and wonderful things for Him! I had nothing to offer but only myself, and God has used me to change the lives of thousands of people. God can do the same with you if you surrender your all to Him.
