How to Live a Life of Worship
The Bible says in Romans 12:1 that “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship”. To know how to live a life of worship we have to fully understand what worship is. Most people including Christians struggle to define worship thinking it is the act of singing slow songs and crying or lifting up holy hands. Some people change their mood and become pious as though God was mad at them or something. Today we will learn that worship is bigger than what we do on Sundays in our churches.
Although worship can be an act of reverence or showing supreme respect and veneration to God, it moves beyond that. A life lived can be considered as worship. In the scripture above living a holy life and a life that is pleasing to God is defined as worship. God is not interested in us being religious but rather in a transformed heart: A heart that is full of love for Him and His son Jesus Christ. Religion is man’s invention but transformation is God’s ultimate call.
So how can you live a life of worship? Firstly, in view of this I would like to admonish you to live a life that is pure and devoid of sin. It is definitely not easy without the Holy Spirit. But with the Holy Spirit you can do it. Your actions may be important but not as important as the state of your heart. If your heart is right you will live right. Only an apple can produce an apple fruit, only cats give birth to kitten and only humans give birth to humans. I am giving you all these examples to say this, when you become born again, you are born of God. That means you are born holy and therefore you can live holy, you are born righteous and therefore you can live right. Don’t let people talk you into believing you are a sinner ones you are born again.
Have this consciousness and continue to grow in this consciousness and your life will forever be a life of worship unto God.
