A Brand New Body
All over the world, Jews celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year occurring usually in the month of September. This feast is celebrated with the blowing of trumpets—the shofar or ram’s horn. That is why it is also called the Feast of Trumpets. This speaks of the rapture where we will meet Jesus in the clouds.
When the trumpet sounds, “in the twinkling of an eye”, we (the church) who are alive will be changed. We will put on new bodies that will be like Jesus’! Those who are dead in Christ will rise and also receive new bodies. They will go up first followed by us who are alive, and we will all meet the Lord in the air (1 Corinthians 15:51–55). What a wonderful scene it will be. I am keenly waiting for it to come to pass.
This means that there is a possibility that you might not see death! The Bible says, “Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). It is one thing to happen to be alive, but quite another to remain alive.
As awesome as this is there is another truth that will blow your mind. The Bible says in John 1:12-13 that “as many as believed in Him to them He gave the right to become children of God…, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God”. What does this mean? This simply means that you now have a brand new body after believing in Christ. The blood that now flows in your body is no longer ordinary. It is the blood that can no longer be susceptible to sickness or disease. You now have a brand new body full of God and radiant of God’s divine health.
This is why I don’t fall sick. Really! You may ask. Yes I don’t and it is all because I believe in this truth. Don’t be worried when people call you crazy or too spiritual when you start believing in this truth, I was called same but I am now living it. They fall sick because they believe it is normal to be sick at times and well at other times but that is not scriptural.
I believe that there is a generation of Christians who will know the resurrection power of the Lord so much that they will know how to walk in their inheritance and put off sickness and death until the coming of the Lord. My beloved, may you be counted as one of them as you take the Lord Jesus and His finished work as your victory over sickness and death in Jesus name.
