Saved And So What

falling-man

There are people who claim they are saved but we can actually not find any difference between where they are now and when they were not saved. That is a great deception. It is like saying you were involved in a serious accident and we cannot find even a single scratch on your body. You cannot experience God and not be changed. But to those who are really saved my question to you is you are saved and so what?

You may be surprised by such a question but I will ask again, “you are saved and so what”? I don’t know about you, but I am not satisfied with just been saved and knowing that I am righteous by faith. I also want to get to know the One who made me righteous; the One who saved me. I want to have an intimate relationship with my Saviour!

Abraham was such a man. He was righteous by faith, but he also had a close walk with God and was blessed by God in all things (Genesis 24:1). His nephew Lot, on the other hand, although righteous too (2 Peter 2:7–8), had no fellowship with God and so ended up losing a lot when Sodom, the city he dwelt in, was destroyed along with Gomorrah. He was saved by the skin of his teeth!

My beloved, do you want to be a Christian like Lot, righteous but always finding yourself in trouble, or do you want to be a righteous and blessed Christian like Abraham? This is a choice you would have to make. But remember that to have a life like Abraham you must have a heart for God.

From place to place, Abraham would build an altar to the Lord. And in between altars, he grew very rich! (Genesis 13:2) There is no biblical record, however, of Lot ever building an altar to the Lord.

There are Christians who are enjoying the blessings of God and others who are not. The underlining factor that separates such Christians is their fellowship with God because they are all saved in the first place. Some cry and cry thinking the crying is going to change their problems but remain where they are. Salvation means nothing until you begin to walk in your salvation.

As you continually build a relationship with God, closed doors begin to open and things begin to go in your favour. Don’t be surprised when you see extraordinary things happening in the lives of others because it’s as a result of their fellowship with the Father.

My beloved, don’t be like Lot who was saved by the skin of his teeth but be like Abraham who enjoyed God’s love, peace, goodness and faithfulness.
