Three Things God Expects In Worship
Worship simply means giving honour or adoration to God. Worship in Biblical terms is attributed to bowing down in showing reverence to someone but in this case God. It does not necessarily have to do with speaking or singing although that is important but rather your heart and corresponding action. God deserves your worship and expects it in His way and not your own way.
God expects you to give Him your time.
God is a principled God that is why He does things in His season (Ezekiel 34:26). The mistake many of us make is to allocate time for Him in our day mostly by fixing Him in our free period. God deserves the first and best parts of our time. Don’t bother praying because He won’t even show up when you fix Him in your life; when you try to incorporate Him into your life. He wants your time and yearns for your fellowship but you have to incorporate everything else into His time and not the other way round.
Eschew hypocritical worship.
God is not interested in the outward show although it may show the passion you have. He is interested in your heart. The actions are not as important as the purity in heart. Many in our churches pretend to love the Lord in the eyes of people but in their heart they don’t. But in vain they do worship Him for they honour God with their lips but their hearts are far away from Him (Matthew 15:8). That won’t get you anywhere because there is no blessing in that. Reflect on His Goodness for that is what will give you a cause to worship Him.
Give your all.
When it comes to worship, God desires everything you have got. He created you for fellowship. God is Spirit and His worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Your heart is what God always look at. You may be able to deceive man but it is impossible to deceive God. He knows you before you were born so you can’t do anything to surprise Him to fall of His throne. If you have to go on your knees, lie prostrate or even cry, don’t look at what people will say around you. Just give your all to appreciate God.

Worship is between you and God and serves as a door way for Him to pure down His blessings and to make you a blessing. Train yourself to be a worshiper and you will become a wonder in your generation and in the world.
