Why Is It Always The Devil
Time and time again I hear believers attributing every mishap to the devil. Is the devil to blame for everything that goes wrong or are we partakers of the wrong that happens around us? No one wants to take the blame. Man is good at shifting blame instead of taking the blame and working hard to resolve matters. Although the devil may be involved in some of the wrong things that happen in the world today, most of the sum total is caused by man. Man has been the cause of its own destruction from the fall of Adam till now. Nothing much has changed.
So why is it always the devil? We fail to understand the judgement of God in most of the things that happens to us. The preaching of Grace is not to permit sin but rather to help you avoid sin. God’s love helps you to live holy but remember His judgement in your life may not just happen at once. Just as He is perfect in love, He is in Judgement. The story of Saul is a great example (1 Samuel 1:16). God gave his kingship to David but Saul died about 40 years after. God was working out His judgement during all those times.
So why is it always the devil? Do we even know that attributing everything that goes wrong to him is an act of praising him? The devil’s role is to destroy so saying it again is singing praises to him. This is just like Giving thanks to God for what He has done in your life. Some men of God even feel comfortable talking about the devil and demonology than talking about Jesus Christ when there is a lot to talk about Jesus Christ that has not been said yet. The devil is just a toothless dog that scares people with his barking so instead of talking about him, rather concentrate on God. That is where the power is; not in cursing the devil but in praising and worshiping God.
Conclusion
The devil has already been defeated and there is a difference between praying for victory and praying from victory. We have already been declared victors even before the battle begun. This is to encourage us to even do more without being afraid of the devil. If the time used to bind the devil in our churches of today was used to worship and praise the Lord, there would be a great turn around in the world. Let us focus on Jesus. Let us set our gaze on Jesus. He is the only one worthy of our time and life.
