What Is Faith

faith

Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real face what is not revealed to the senses] (Hebrews 11:1 AMP).

Many people lament on how God has given specific words about healing, prosperity and restoration in the Word of God yet they are not able to experience or access the physical manifestation of it in their lives. Unbelief short-circuits the power of God in your life and keeps you from experiencing God’s best. The Bible clearly states that when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because anyone who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. Such a man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord (James 1:6-8).

What is faith? This is a question that is most talked about but the least understood. Preachers do a bad job by pushing everything on the members and later blame them for not receiving because they had no faith. Christians try so hard trying to get faith for something to happen in their lives and get blamed again for not getting enough faith for their breakthrough (Note: Jesus never blamed the sick for not having enough faith). The above scripture defines faith perfectly but another simple definition that I will give here will help you a lot. Faith simply means believing in God’s love for you. As simple as this may sound, that is all it takes to receive your healing, prosperity or any other breakthrough in your life. Just having assurance in God’s love for you will let you know that He will do all that it takes to make you happy.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. Everyone is given the same measure of faith but this faith needs to grow. This grows as you increase in the revelation of the Father’s love for your life and you can get that from the Word of God. Don’t wait for things to go wrong before you try to build up faith. No one plants a seed and goes the following week to harvest his/her crops. Make time for the Word of God and He will reveal Himself for you.
