Asking For Revival Is Illegal

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord (Romans 12:11).

King David in Psalm 85:6 asked, “Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?” Many Christians today unknowingly pray like this, asking the Lord for revival. “Lord send your revival in this place or revive us O Lord?” The new creation doesn’t need revival and therefore asking for revival is illegal. All through the New Testament, none of the apostles ever asked God for a revival. That is because we have something the folks in the Old Testament didn’t have; we can be filled with the Spirit and revived from the inside.

The Spirit is the only source of life that the believer has and we can maintain the fire of the Spirit twenty-four hours a day by praying fervently in other tongues. This is something you must continuously do this year if you want increase in your life. When you pray in tongues, the same glory that came upon the apostles in the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost can come on you (Acts 2:2-4) and you can maintain that fire consistently every day.

Asking for revival is illegal because the Holy Spirit is inside you to quicken you to do the impossible (Romans 8:11). All you need is the Holy Spirit! If you are not filled with the Holy Spirit yet, this is the right time to ask God to fill you. He is very important for a successful Christian walk. This walk of faith will be impossible without the Holy Spirit. That is not to say that it is compulsory for every believer to speak in tongues. But when you get full of the Spirit, the only sign is to speak in other tongues.

Conclusion

Tongues (speaking in a heavenly language) is very important for you and doesn’t need to be overemphasized. When you feel weak, all you need to do is to speak in other tongues and revive yourself from the inside. If you have some business to deal with, spend time to speak in tongues first! When you are confused with taking a serious decision, set yourself to pray fervently in the Spirit! You’ll be stirred and set in the flow of the Spirit to receive direction as to what to do and how to do it so that you walk in total perfection.
