Fight From Victory and Not For Victory

Man-Fighting 1

God does not need you to defeat the devil today nor has He asked you to fight the devil. Jesus has already done it and given you the victory (Colossians 2:15, Romans 8:37). Your part is to enforce the victory by simply standing your ground, which is the victory ground. In other words, you “fight” from victory ground by standing. You don’t fight for victory.

Assuming you had a land which has been occupied by squatters. Out of frustration you send these squatters to court and the court have ruled in your favour. The question now lies in how you are going to enforce that ruling to get the squatters out of your land. That is where many believers are. Not knowing what to do they try to fight the squatters instead of just enforcing the ruling that will make them leave. The devil is the least of your problems if you know who you are and what you have in Christ.

In Ephesians 6:10–18, the passage on spiritual warfare, the word “wrestle” appears only once in verse 12, while the word “stand” appears four times—“stand against the wiles of the devil”, “withstand in the evil day”, “having done all, to stand”, “Stand therefore” (Verses 11, 13–14). Four times the Holy Spirit tells us to stand. Yet, many Christians are focusing on wrestling their way to victory! If the time spent on fighting the devil would be directed to loving Jesus and the Father, there will be a great transformation in your life.

My beloved, you are already on victory ground. You already have everything in Christ (1 Corinthians 3:21, 23). You are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3). The devil knows this and that is why his tactic is to deceive you and make you think that you don’t have the victory. He is only afraid of Christians who know who they are in Christ.

He likes to make you think you are poor when you are not; he likes to make you feel you are sick when you are not; he likes to make you think you will amount to nothing when you are already a success. You are a child of the King so fight from victory and not for victory because you are richly supplied in Christ.

What the devil does best is to deceive, so he will do all that it takes to turn your attention to the problem and not the solution. This is the time to be conscious of Jesus’ finished work and declare words of victory and not of defeat. Enjoy God’s love for you and know that you are safe if you remain in Him.

Beloved, it makes a world of difference when you fight from victory and not for victory!
