Wealthy Because of Jesus

When we think of God, we think of the most powerful and richest being in the whole universe but do you know that our Lord Jesus Christ was actually born into a relatively poor family? We know this from the kind of offering His mother brought to the temple after Jesus was born, according to the law of purification (Luke 2:22-24). She brought a pair of turtledoves or young pigeons which were the type of offering the poor could afford (Leviticus 12:2-8).

As you can recall, with Jesus coming into the lives of Mary and Joseph (parents of Jesus), they didn’t remain poor. Wise men came to Jesus with treasures -… “On coming to the house, they (the wise men) saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh (Matthew 2:11)”. Jesus presence brought gold, a very precious metal, frankincense and myrrh – two of the most expensive spices – to His family. The family became wealthy because of Jesus.

The wise men must have come to the city with a great entourage for the Bible records how all Jerusalem was fearful when they entered the city (Matthew 2:3). Just try to imagine the amount of gold, frankincense and myrrh that accompanied such a great entourage that was meant for Jesus’ parents.

Many become Christians and are deceived into being mediocre. Others are also afraid of becoming Christians because they think they will be poor. All that is unscriptural! My beloved, the moment you are born again, Jesus becomes a part of your life and when you have Him in your life, get ready for His abundant supply that will come your way. The secret is not to look for the blessing but rather Jesus because He brings all the wealth along with Him. You become wealthy because of Jesus. The presence of the Son of the living God in your life attracts good things like magnet.

My beloved, when you have Jesus in your life and when you know that He has paid the price for your abundance, you can boldly declare, “Jesus, you were made poor for my sake so that through your poverty, I will be made rich in all things.” He is the secret to long lasting super abundance in your life. Don’t suffer or sweat to be rich, just invite Jesus because He brings all the wealth you could ever wish for with Him.
