You Are the Glory of God
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: John 17:22
The Bible says that when God created man, He crowned him with glory and honour (Psalm 8:5). The word crowned is not just putting on a crown but also means to surround with an atmosphere of glory. In fact, Adam’s whole being was gloriously radiant.
But when man sinned against God, he forfeited the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Jesus Christ never sinned so His glory was intact and still remains intact. From the above scripture, we learn that before His death He prayed to the Father for us that the glory will be shared with us also (who are born again).
So the glory of God which man forfeited has now been restored to him because Jesus has come. When He died on the cross, He took our shame, gave us His righteousness and restored the glory of God to us. He took our place and we took His place.
Glory of God does not just mean splendour but also means having a good opinion concerning someone that results in praise and honour. God wants us to be away of His constant good opinion of us.
My friend, because of the Glory of God, there is something special about you. People around you may not know why but their spirits are lifted when they are in your presence. There is something about you that impacts them even if they have been around you for a short while. When you talk they listen because only wisdom comes out.
Because God’s glory is on you, it will touch every aspect of your life – your finances, relationships, work and health. No wonder you don’t ill like them. Because you are the glory of God.
Beloved, because Jesus has come and restored the glory of God to you, be conscious of God’s constant good opinion of you. Know that there is a weightiness about you and arise, shine! Glory be to God.
