God Loves You Same As Jesus

Spine of a Bible ca. 2001

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me (John 17:22-23).

Did you know that God loves us as much as He loves Jesus? Well that’s true, He does! And you have to live with this consciousness everyday of your life, in all that you do. Jesus wants us to know that God sent Him to do what He did on the cross for us. You are absolutely peculiar. All of God’s creation no one is like you and nobody can ever be like you. You are unique in your own way.

The Bible says you were bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). No one in his right mind would go into a shop to purchase a worthless item. There are folks who in their prayers would say, “We are nothing (or worthless) before you, O Lord”; they literally think they are being humble, but the truth is, they are showing their ignorance. You were bought with a price – the precious blood of Jesus Christ, because God loves you that much, just like Jesus. The value of a product is directly proportional to how much you pay for such a product. If you were the only one on earth, Jesus would have still died for you anyway. He wants the whole world to know that God loves you as much as He loves Him.

Finally

He wants people to see you and testify that indeed, the Father loves you lavishly. He wants you to know that God’s love is real and no deceit. Let this truth dominate your thinking today. That is what makes a loser to become a winner, a poor man to become a rich man, and an alcoholic to lose his/her addiction. It will lift you from the pit and set your foot upon the rock so you can walk in victory. God loves you same as Jesus. Don’t forget that.

  1. Could God love us as he loves himself?

Jesus would have lived by these commandments and loved all his neighbours as he loved himself, he could do nothing greater than the greatest commandments.
