The Word of God
The Bible is the most relevant and exciting book that has ever been produced, and remains perpetually the living Word of God. It is the storehouse of God’s power and is available to only those who believe in His Son. There are many today yearning and aching to hear from God but are not ready to read the Bible. Oh, if they would only take time to search the scriptures. The Word of God is truth and is entirely consistent with current and past trends of life. It is inspired by God, thus was written in the very words that God wanted but was written by men moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). Below are a few things the Word of God can do for anyone who believes:
The Word of God is useful for Spiritual Growth
As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word, that ye may grow thereby (1 Peter 2:2). The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It has the ability to straighten us out and to help us to do what is right. There can be no spiritual growth apart from the Word of God.
The Word of God provide God’s principle for prosperity
David testifies that blessed is the man who does not associate with the wicked, nor spend time seeking guidance from wicked men but rather his delight is in the law of the Lord and also spends time to meditate over the Word after he has read it (Psalm 1:1-3). The result is prosperity beyond comprehension. There are several people running to and fro seeking to amass wealth and to become famous overnight. It is sad to also see some Christians seeking prosperity from unholy sources but do not delight in seeking God’s wisdom through the study of the Word. Our Father has promised prosperity for those who delight and act on His Word.
The Word of God keeps you Holy
The Psalmist gives us three ways by which a young man may sustain spiritual growth and live without sin in today’s world where temptations are on the increase (Psalm 119:9-11). These are by:
Living according to the God’s Word
Seeking God through a search in His word
Hiding God’s word in your heart
One can stay faithful by putting the Word of God as a mirror before him daily, seeking its truth and living according to its principles. The person who searches and keeps on meditating on the Word of God will not stray away from the truth and all who hide the truth of the Word of God in their hearts like precious jewels kept in a vault in a bank are assured of spiritual growth. God’s Word must be studied diligently. It must not only be read but meditated upon to get the real truth embedded in it. God is looking for someone who would seek Him. Don’t be left behind. Do it with all your heart and He will surely meet you at the point of your need.
