How To Grow Your Faith
Faith is the principle of life for every believer. The Bible clearly emphasizes that without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:16). The Bible also tells us that God has already dealt to every man – every one of us in the body of Christ – the measure of faith. Notice He did not say “a measure” but rather “the measure” of faith. This is important because each of us received the same definite amount of faith as any other Christian (as the great Apostles) when we received the message of salvation to be born again. But one thing God expects of you is to grow your faith.
The Word of God clearly admonishes you on how to grow your faith great and strong, and in making it effective. First of all you have to continually read and study the Word of God with undivided attention. The more you feed on God’s Word, the more your faith grows, causing you to be stirred up and energized on the inside because faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
Secondly, your faith can grow as you fellowship with other believers. The Bible charged us not to give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another as we see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:25). Attending church services and meetings should be made a top priority in your life.
Thirdly, you should cultivate a rich culture of prayer. Learn to enjoy the rich fellowship of the Holy Spirit in prayer by speaking in other tongues. As you speak in tongues, you edify yourself and quicken your spirit to be sensitive to spiritual things. But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit (Jude 1:20).
Lastly, get rich Christian materials and study them for yourself (2 Timothy 2:15). There are so many transformational teachings on faith in books, tapes, audio and video CDs that can help in growing your faith. Learning how to grow your faith is very essential in Christendom because without it you will be missing out on God’s best for your life. As you listen to or read the messages, whatever the Spirit of God ministers to you, put it to work in your life and you will grow prevailing faith that will make you a wonder in your generation.
