Believing Is Receiving

I have heard people say on uncountable occasions that “seeing is believing”. Generally, that is the way the world thinks but God’s ways are not like the ways of the world. As a matter of fact the world’s wisdom is foolishness and always opposite to the Wisdom of God. The world says, “If I can’t feel it or see it, I cannot believe the miracle is here.” God says, “If you believe it, you will see your miracle.” God’s theory hinges on believing is receiving!

Believing first before seeing the evidence of it is what we call “faith”. Faith is like a spark and Jesus is the dynamite powder. In the story of the healing of the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:31), there were many other people who were touching Jesus but nothing happened to them. They didn’t touch Him in faith. But when the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years came to Him and touched Him in faith, He felt power leave His body (Mark 5:30), and it resulted in the end of the woman’s 12 years of suffering!

Hearing about how good, kind and loving Jesus was birthed faith in her heart that she was so convinced to the extent that she said to herself “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Did she experience her healing first before she believed? No, she believed first in Jesus’ goodness and power, acted in faith and only then felt the healing in her body. Note that she didn’t feel or see anything in her body before believing for her miracle confirming the theory of believing is receiving!

In the same way, God wants you to believe in His goodness and love toward you. He wants you to know how willing He is to act on your behalf to bless you, and how, with Christ, He will freely give you every good thing (Romans 8:32). Faith is simply resting in God’s love that is why you don’t need to work yourself out to try to get more faith.

He wants you to declare by faith that all is and shall be well with you, and to expect to see just that. Ones you follow God’s theory of believing is receiving, be rest assured that all you are believing for shall surely come to pass.
