Four Reasons Why You Should Love
Love is very important in every believer’s life. It comes as a result of your fellowship with the Holy Spirit. The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ gives faith, the love of God gives hope and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost gives love. This proves to be the very reason why there are some Christians who fail to love like Christ. This article will explain briefly four reasons why you should love:
1. It is a direct command: John 15:9-17
A command is a direct order. One which you have no says. A servant needs to obey his master no matter what. Obedience is very important in Christendom. Jesus, the proprietor of life and the Son of the living God had to learn obedience through the things He suffered (Hebrews 5:8-9). Anyone who claims to love Christ needs to obey His commands. For only then will you be the disciple of Christ.
2. Love casts out Fear: 1 John 4:17-19
Fear is described by the wisdom of this world as an emotion induced by a perceived threat that cause animals but in this case humans to move quickly away from the location of the perceived threat. But these are all man’s wisdom which comes to not. For fear is a spirit (2 Timothy 1:7). This Christian race is warfare and fear is not permitted. It takes spiritual bravery to dominate the wicked one and this is through love.
3. Love makes you access the supernatural: 1 Corinthians 13:1-3
There are greater truths and lesser truths. The greater truth is that though you may have all the spiritual gifts, without love they are ineffective. The reason why genuine prophets become false prophets is because of the lack of love. The reason why most believers are ineffective is because of the lack of love(Agape). Love activates your faith and makes it work. It translates you to divine Son-ship and makes power available to help others in need.
4. Love gives you confidence in the presence of God: 1 Peter 4:7-8
The book of proverbs renders it this way, “but love covers all sins”. This is amazing. Why will you hurt someone or even get hurt when you claim you love? All sin does is to fill you with guilt and unbelief. A heart of love has confidence and boldness towards our maker. When you become love and God sees you, He sees Himself and no one denies Himself anything good.
Until you meet God and have that divine encounter you cannot have any of His nature. Love is His nature and it doesn’t come by learning or training. It is imparted by the Holy Spirit and He makes it easy for you to love. God is simple and always make things simple for His Children. Love (Agape) is divine and emanates from God. The greatest love a King can show an orphan on the streets is to adopt him into his own family and give him the same privileges and honours as his own children. This is the very same honour God has bestowed on us. This is a heart of freedom and not bondage. Pursue this love and you will never regret it.
