Inspiration For The Believer (3)
In my short life of being a Christian there are a few interesting things I have come across and this is one of them. There are a lot of people praying and crying to hear from God but forget the only thing God can reach them through. They are crying to hear the audible voice of God but have the Bible resting under their pillow. The Bible under the pillow cannot protect you until you open it to practice the truths in it.
Today I want to talk about something I call the best of inspirations. This is not to say that the others are not important. They are all equally important but this is the one I would love to dwell on. This inspiration for the believer is “the Word of God”. The Word of God is God’s answer to humanity and is the storehouse of wisdom. It is the most relevant book for the believer and the light that breaks through your darkness. Reading books from other authors is good but let the Word of God be the ultimate.
The Word of God was and is inspired by God Himself (2 Timothy 16). It is the best source of inspiration if you ask me. When I read my Bible, I don’t see someone else but myself and who I am supposed to be. Stop reading your Bible with lenses that makes you see someone else apart from Jesus and/or yourself. If you read your Bible and you don’t see yourself then you may be about to or in the process of backsliding.
The duty of every believer is to imitate the Holy Scriptures. The Word of God is not just for head knowledge but is for practice: it is for living. The Word is all you need for a successful Christian life! The faith that the apostles of old had is the same faith you have. You are not supposed to try to have faith because you already have all you need. The problem of faith is due to the lack of God’s Word in the spirit of believers. Faith is birth from the reading of the Holy Scriptures.
That is why it is important that you are baptised in the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is the author and knows how to communicate His Word to your understanding. Many don’t understand the Word of God because they don’t have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them. This is the right place to ask Him to come into your life.
Beloved, I want to encourage you to get closer to the Holy Scriptures. Spend enough time each day to study and not just read. Ask God to help you to understand His Word and He gladly will.
