Dominion Over The Devil
As a toddler, I was told I had the blood type AS. Although it was not as serious as those with SS, I still had to go to the hospital every fortnight. Sometimes it was every week. I lived in that mindset for most periods of my youth until I heard a Man of God say that he has not been sick for about 42 years. This was so baffling. How could this Man of God say that! So I ignored it until I heard another Man of God say he can never be sick because sickness is from the devil. All my life I thought it was normal to fall sick. This really challenged me and now I can say it has been years since I even visited the hospital.
Take this teaching you are about to receive seriously. You have total dominion over the devil in Christ Jesus. The devil cannot just walk right up to you and rob you of your health, peace, finances or family. He cannot just come into your life to enforce disease and destruction. If he could do that, then he does not need to walk about “seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). He would only need to walk up to anyone he wants to devour and devour him! But the Bible categorically states that he walks about seeking whom he may devour, meaning that there are others he cannot devour.
One day as I was walking on the street to work, a dog came running at me and backing. I was afraid at first but I just mastered a little bit of courage and shouted at it. Guess what the dog did? It stopped and continued backing whiles standing. When it realised I was not afraid, it just went back to where it came from. Then the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and said that is exactly the way the devil is.
You see, the devil goes about like a roaring lion trying to stir up fear in people with his roars. He is only able to prey on the people he can intimidate by his roars. He is powerless to people who know who they are in Christ and are walking therein. Such people know that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
My beloved, the Lion of Judah is in you. The One who died and arose from the dead is in you. He has given you rights, privileges, authority and power. He redeemed you with His blood. Therefore, everything about you and your life is redeemed by His blood and whatever you cover with the blood of Jesus, God declares, “Protected and Redeemed!” And the devil flees when he sees the blood, meaning no sickness, disease, pain, suffering, destruction or loss will come your way giving you dominion over the devil and his cohorts.
Once the devil knows that you know who you are in Christ and what you have in Him, his days of intimidating you are over, and you are numbered among the undevourable (if there is a word like that).
